twoday kapacity helps Akutberedskabet improve traffic safety using data

Region Hovedstadens Akutberedskab (Emergency Preparedness) has, in collaboration with Trygfonden and twoday kapacity, created an interactive map that provides an overview of traffic accidents in the region. The expectation is that the display of data will improve traffic safety.

Data can save lives and create security. This has been the mantra of Region Hovedstadens Akutberedskab, which has worked to release and display data on a website so that citizens, municipalities, urban developers, and others can access and use data for city planning and safe traffic development.

"We have a lot of valid and important data in Akutberedskabet, and we need to use them for the benefit of citizens and society in the future. We have chosen to collect data on traffic accidents on a website because we want to make our data available to everyone, to share knowledge and create a sense of security," says Mikkel Dahlstrøm Jørgensen, Head of Section, Data, Controlling & IT in Region Hovedstadens Akutberedskab.

twoday kapacity has assisted and advised Akutberedskabet in the process of releasing traffic accident data, including data modelling, visualization in Microsoft Power BI, and embedding data on the website.

"At twoday kapacity, we are proud of our collaboration with the Emergency Medical Services, which has clear ambitions for data that could potentially save lives. We are very pleased to help achieve the goals that have been set. The solution provides both politicians and urban developers with a concrete tool to improve traffic safety, but also democratizes data so that citizens can push for changes to dangerous traffic routes based on facts," says Søren Toft Joensen, partner and CCO of twoday Kapacity.

twoday kapacity has also worked with Akutberedskabet to establish an agile data platform, where the life-saving data that the Emergency Medical Services possesses is put into play. When, for example, you call 1-1-2 or 1813, seconds can be crucial when decisions need to be made. The goal here is for data to support the healthcare professionals who receive the call. And this can potentially save lives, whether it's about cardiac arrest, traffic accidents, or something else.
